StarChaser

http://www.space4schools.co.uk/

Starchaser is Britain’s only commercial rocket R&D Company, and is working towards the creation of a totally reusable rocket system that can be used to safely launch tourists into space. They also have an excellent Educational Outreach Team with a wide range of programmes designed to enthuse and inspire the next generation of rocket scientists. Whether by watching a show about the deepest secrets of the Universe, building and launching their own solid fuel rockets, or by having Skybolt, a real 9 metre rocket, in the school grounds, students are encouraged to appreciate the benefits of science, technology, engineering and maths. The message delivered by our outreach team is a clear and convincing one: that the STEM subjects are exciting and lead to enriching and fulfilling careers. Starchaser are currently taking bookings for the new academic year, but dates are going fast, so book early to avoid disappointment. To find out more, please call Matt Shewbridge on 0161 882 9922, or visit www.space4schools.co.uk. The Sky is not the Limit!

The Enigma Project

http://enigma.maths.org/content/

The Enigma Project is a presentation about the history and mathematics of codes and code breaking, from ancient Greece to the present, including a demonstration of a genuine WWII enigma machine. Then later, in the workshops, it is the student's turn to be the codebreakers! Cryptography is one of the most interesting, inspiring and exotic applications of mathematics.

Young Engineers STEM Challenge Days http://www.youngeng.org/index.asp?page=1266

These STEM Challenge Days are available to both

Primary and Secondary school students. They are

placed in groups and set a challenging 'design and
