The Campaign has already broken its first target by getting more than 5,500 schools gardening since its launch. The Campaign provides resources to help teachers set up and make the most of their school garden, teach the National Curriculum outdoors and inspire their pupils to live greener lifestyles.

To celebrate the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009), the SPA has up to 1000 telescopes to give to secondary schools to help inspire young people (aged

between 11 and 14) with the wonders of the night sky. The funding for the telescopes is provided by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

STEMPOINT Contract

We (SETPOINT Hertfordshire) hold the STEMPOINT contract for Hertfordshire, providing brokerage services for STEM Enhancement & Enrichment (E&E). Through this we have a responsibility to provide all schools and colleges with impartial advice and guidance on a wide range of STEM E&E activities, helping them to identify which opportunities can best inspire their young people in STEM. This includes advice on activities listed in the STEM directories as well as other regional and local provision.

SEAs Services

We (SETPOINT Hertfordshire) hold the Science & Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) contract for Hertfordshire, ensuring all schools and colleges have access to a range of exciting and dynamic role models in STEM. SEAs are individuals who are willing to give their time and energy free of charge to help inspire young people in STEM - they can do this in a variety of ways from illustarting specific careers or helping with classroom activities to assisting in extra-curicular activities such as clubs, challenges and competitions.
