Plastazote Workshop

WHAT IS PLASTAZOTE?Plastazote is a smart material. It is safe, non-toxic, polyethylene foam, available in 8 bright A4 coloured sheets. It can be cut with scissors, marked with felt tip, combined and joined, embossed, painted. Its real impact is when it is moulded into fantastic shapes.Workshops take place in the classroom.WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH IT? - In SCIENCE - investigate its characteristics and relate to its variety of commercial uses.  - In TECHNOLOGY - use it for making fun models including aspects of the QCA curriculum. - In DESIGN/Art - use it to make amazing modelsWHAT DOES THE SCHOOL GET?A whole day in school involving two workshops (one class in the morning and one in the afternoon) with all materials and equipment provided. The theme of things the children will make can be agreed with the presenter beforehand to fit in with current studies.(A special reduced rate is available to BP Link and Dacorum schools thanks to the support provided by BP).
