Giant Tets is a two-hour workshop for upper KS2, (Y5 & 6) where children construct a giant tetrahedron from dowel and elastic bands, Over 4 metres tall and large enough to contain a class of 32. The impressive structure is the result of teamwork and cooperation. This workshop has been extensively presented across the UK with impressive results.
The Workshop was excellent, providing all children in the class with a very enjoyable experience, most importantly in the pastoral curriculum. In these days of cramming every school minute with academic subjects, there is often little time for developing social skills. Not only did we cover aspects of maths, science and design, the Workshop managed to involve every child regardless of academic ability. It promoted the value of every human being, and the fact that we all have a great deal to offer. The Workshop raised everyone’s self esteem. This was the most valuable workshop that I have experienced in the 20 years I have taught at this School.’ JMI teacher, Ilfracombe
