Flight Two is a KS2 Y4, 5 & 6 Science and Technology Workshop in which children revisit the ideas of the ‘flight paths’ of various tree seeds. They construct simple spinners, a helicopter rotor and make two different paper plane models.
The workshop is best done in the classroom with access to the school hall or playground for flight testing. It is most suitable for years 5 and 6.
The aim of the team is for the pupils to consider the forces involved in flight, particularly lift. The children are taken through all the stages in constructing their models and they will be encouraged to measure and cut accurately.
WHAT DO WE GET?
