The 'Big Bang Fair' 2010
Be part of something really BIG! The Big Bang Fair 2010 is a collaboration between many science and engineering institutions organised jointly by the British Science Association and Young Engineers, with support from the ETB (Engineering Technology Board). In Manchester in March 2010, the Big Bang Fair showcases outstanding projects
by young people aged 11 - 19 across all STEM subjects.
The Big Bang Fair will comprise the national celebrations for the CREST and Young Engineers schemes as well as interactive exhibits, demonstrations and shows for visiting school groups. The new National Science Competition’s final will also be held at the Fair.
Students can enter their projects through these routes:
the British Science Association CREST Scheme(including work completed through associated schemes e.g. Nuffield, EESE etc.)
the Young Engineer for Britain schemethe new National Science Competition.Students can also attend for free as delegates, and see many exciting exhibits, theatre shows and workshops – see http://www.thebigbangfair.co.uk/whats_on.cfm.
Applications for CREST and the National Science Competition are available online from the end of September until the end of November. Please go to www.thebigbangfair.co.uk for more information about both entry forms. Prestigious awards which involve international travel and large cash sums are on offer. Several SETPOINT Hertfordshire Nuffield Student Bursars have won awards in recent years.
