We need an Ambassador (or 2) to help out with an activity: a challenge to build a catapult capable of firing a certain height & distance using K'nex. Following a training session first thing in the morning, you will be paired with another judge (someone who has done it before if you have not) and will then judge 4-6 projects over ~ 2 hours. After lunch (provided) you are welcome to stay for the show (Lucy Hawking and the Naked Scientists) and prizegiving or leave ~1pm. |

A week of Summer school for KS2/3 students who are learing about flight. Practical activities will be undertaken as the subjects of balooning, gliding and kites are discovered. A rocket project with decent chute will also be built and launched using compressed air. |

They are looking for Ambassadors with either experience to do with Space, or experience to do with textiles, design or graphic products. They could either pop in to do a short talk about their job/life route from school-present, or help out with the relevant unit (e.g. a graphic designer could help out with the design unit) for a half-day perhaps.
Several different units are studied, including textiles, graphics & graphic products, all on the theme of Space.
