Volunteers will be provided with catering free of charge on site. Volunteers will need to be onsite each morning from 8amm and (depending on their role) until 17:30. Some may be required on the evenings to support the Partner Dinner and the Awards Ceremony.
The Big Bang: UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair Download PDF for more info... 11- 13 March 2010 (11 & 12 March - School Days; 13 March - General Public Open Day) Manchester Central G Mex Centre Windmill St Manchester M2 3GX Each volunteer will be required to attend a volunteer briefing day on either 18th February in London or 26th February in Manchester, and will be expected to provide at least one day of volunteering during the Fair. Volunteers will be acting as role models, and should be able to engage with a wide variety of people from across all spectrums of the community and present an open and engaging view of STEM to all
K'Nex Challenges in schools Training Session February - May 2010 Dates dependant on school Fri 29th January Hertfordshire MBDA, Stevenage 8:30 to 12:00 or 12:00 to 3:30 Dependant on no. of children taking part. 2:00 to 5:00 PM Mileage can be claimed back at 40p per mile after the challenge. Over 75 schools in Hertfordshire are taking part in this challenge organised by Young Engineers. We still require engineers for at least 15 schools to enable them to participate. Please contact Vannessa to find out which dates and schools are still available.
World of Work Week Tues April 27th: Science Wed April 28th Engineering & construction North Herts College in Stevenage 10am to 2pm They would like people to come along and give talks about their company/job/career – the main aim is to raise awareness about career opportunities. The talks could be for 20mins -1 hour, and anytime between 10am and 2pm
